Ellen “Len” Craver Young
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Registered Certified Tomatis Consultant (RCTC)

Dr. Ellen Craver Young (“Len”) has worked as a trained Tomatis® Consultant for over 12 years, since 1996, becoming a founding registered and certified Tomatis Consultant with the establishment of the Association of International Registered Certified Tomatis Consultants in 2001. (www.iarctc.org) During that time she worked with Billie Thompson, PhD, owner of Sound Listening & Learning Centers and authorized Tomatis trainer, to expand the Tomatis Method throughout the US. Now Len is especially pleased to offer the next generation of Tomatis—the Solisten® Training Program, on which she consulted during the development phase with Christian Tomatis, Thierry Gaujarengues, and Billie Thompson. She is currently an active member of the IARCTC International Research Committee.

Building upon her doctoral work focusing on play and its vital and inherent role in living fully, Len also developed several experiential processes that use her fresh image of playfulness to encourage imagination, creativity, and a sense of purposeful direction. She creates community out of which each person emerges with new eyes. These processes can be combined with Solisten when requested.

Len holds a doctorate in Mythological Studies with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California and a Masters in Business Administration from the Crummer School of Business Administration at Rollins College in Florida. She has also studied abroad where she developed a fluency in French. Her broad-based work experience includes marketing at American Home Products and General Foods in New York; general management in professional theater at Young People’s Theatre, Toronto; independent interior design in New York and Arizona; and development and presentation of workshops and seminars across the US. Len has advised and guided diverse clients in new business development as well as life organization skills, and she has served on a number of community boards including in Arizona The Arizona Science Center, The Scottsdale Girls Club, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, and the Sophia Institute in Charleston, South Carolina.

Len’s sense of exploration and her life choices reflect her commitment to the whole person and the truth that each individual and his or her story are vital to the function of our culture. She is a trained facilitator for the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium given by The Pachamama Alliance that is committed to bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on this planet as the guiding principle of our time.

"Play is an inherent part of each human. We play each moment we breathe, whether we are driving children to school, spending time with a spouse, nursing an ill relative, or taking a vacation. Play is a deep part of love and allows us to find joy in our lives.
